PROJECT
Happy Mornings
Supervisor: Dr Linda Barclay
Senior lecturer
The goal of this project is to collaboratively develop a technological solution to assist neurodivergent school children in navigating and completing morning routines, ensuring they can get ready for school on time. The aid will focus on creating a user-friendly, customisable, and interactive interface to support children in managing tasks such as toothbrushing, getting dressed and other morning routines.
Some features we are looking for include
Incorporating Visual Schedules: that displays the morning routine step-by-step maybe include customisable icons, images, or videos to represent each task.
Personalized Profiles: consider a system for parents or caregivers to personalise the aid based on the child's preferences and specific routines and monitor their child. Allow for adjustments and modifications to accommodate individual needs.
Gamification Elements: Include gamification elements to make the morning routine engaging and enjoyable include rewards to motivate and celebrate task completion.
Data Tracking and Analytics: Implement a system to track a child's progress and adherence to the morning routine over time and provide analytics or reports to help parents understand patterns and make informed adjustments.
User-Friendly Interface: Ensure the interface is simple, clear, and easy for children aged 7 – 17 years of age to navigate independently with minimal text.
