Create a digital solution that helps blind or low vision (BLV) people navigate indoor spaces. Many BLV people have to rely on guide dogs, family or friends and current digital solutions such as Bindimaps are only available at a handful of locations with limited accuracy. In indoor spaces, accuracy is of utmost importance as a distance as small as 30cm can make or break a person’s journey. The difficult part is how we can achieve that with limited GPS capabilities and relying on other sensors of phone.

This project will explore the possible solutions to indoor navigation by mapping out some spaces on Clayton Campus and public-use facilities, such as train stations, in three concurrently running team streams focusing on: mixed reality, beacons (BLE & Wifi and Magnetic) and portable trackers.
